October 30, 2015

Below are the answers to the October 2015 Trivia Contest.

1. What event will be held this year at Camp Mihaska in Bourbon, Missouri on November 12-15 in which you are invited? 14th Annual Leadership Development Conference

2. "Success is knowing your purpose in life, growing to reach your maximum potential and sowing seeds that benefit others." Who quoted this?
John Maxwell

3. Incoming freshman at Phillips were subjected to this activity designed to build a sense of unity. Whenever freshmen met a sophomore who said "Button, Freshie," or "Button, Frosh," the freshmen had to kneel, reach on top of their head, and touch the button on top of their cap while yelling, "Yea, Haymakers!" What was this activity called? Frosh Initiation

4. Under rules adopted by the Student Council, which had been organized in 1914, freshmen at Phillips wore this in green until after the Thanksgiving football game each year. Later, the color of it changed. In the 1950s, they were maroon and white. What was the adornment? To continue this tradition, the 1st Year Legacy Scholars receive them at each annual leadership development conference and learn about the Frosh Initiation.
