Legacy Scholars Attend Reunion
August 07, 2009
Four Legacy Scholars mixed and mingled with Phillips University alumni and faculty at the recent Phillips University Reunion on June 26-27 at the Phillips University campus.
Janae Wallace Castell, who has attended seven PUAFA reunions, was thrilled to have been chosen to be a Legacy Scholar from 2004-2007. You may know some of Janae's family members from your time at Phillips - there have been 33! Her parents are Michael Wallace ’76 and Mary Randall Wallace ’76. Her grandparents are Paul Wallace ’54, Suzianne Barnard Wallace ’54, George Randall ’49 and Willa Carter Randall ‘51. Janae graduated from TCU in 2007 and is married to Daniel Castell. She works for CCK Strategies in Tulsa and is currently developing their business valuation division into its own subsidiary company. She has attained her Accredited Valuations Analyst certification and is preparing to sit for the CPA exam. We are proud of Janae and of everything she has accomplished!
This was Blake Billings' second PUAFA reunion. Blake was a PUL Scholar from 2006-2009, and he served on the PULF Board of Directors from 2008-2009. Blake graduated from TCU in May 2009 with a degree in Finance and is beginning law school at Southern Methodist University this fall. Blake has received numerous awards including "Who's Who" and "US Achievement Academy" awards. He has proven himself to be a great leader while at TCU. He has served as the 2007 Homecoming Director and as the Executive Director of FrogAides, TCU’s premier leadership training program for first year students. We are proud of Blake and excited to see which leadership roles he will take on while at SMU!
Caitlin McAnally is from Enid! This is her first year as a Legacy Scholar. She will be attending Drury University in the fall majoring in Religion. Her mother, Devon McAnally, who attended the reunion banquet with Caitlin, attended Phillips Theological Seminary. Caitlin has received the Rotary Youth Leadership Award and has volunteered with Habitat for Humanity. It was great to meet Caitlin and we look forward to seeing her when she comes home on school breaks!
This is also Hannah Teague's first year as a Legacy Scholar. She lives in Chickasha, OK and is attending TCU this fall. Hannah was her high school's valedictorian and a member of the National Honor Society. She has volunteered her time on a mission trip to Mexico to help build a church and has tutored a student in trigonometry. We were excited to meet Hannah and it will be great to see her again at the PUL Leadership Conference in November!
