February Scholar Profile Malachi Gnade
“Leadership is about influencing and guiding others in a more positive direction than before. I have kept this quote in my mind since freshman year of high school: “Preach the Gospel at all times, and when necessary, use words.” Simply put, I always try to lead by example.”
Malachi Gnade is a passionate and driven first-year undergraduate student at Culver-Stockton College in his junior year. He is pursuing a major in mathematics education with minors in computer/data science and religion/philosophy. Malachi’s impressive academic and extracurricular background includes attending St. Dominic High School in O’Fallon, Missouri, where he excelled in various clubs and athletics. Notable achievements include winning first place in the 2022 Missouri State Boys’ Volleyball Tournament, participating as a lawyer in the 2021 Mock Trial Competition, being a member of the National Honor Society, and serving as a senior peer minister for St. Dominic’s campus ministry program. Despite his busy schedule, Malachi continues to participate in volleyball and remains committed to his faith, actively serving as an altar server and lector in his hometown parish. Additionally, he has demonstrated his leadership skills by serving as a team leader for the annual service projects hosted by the parish of Immaculate Conception of Old Monroe.
Malachi’s ultimate goal is to utilize his mathematical and data skills to make a positive impact on his local community and to inspire the next generation as a high school math teacher.
