Sam is a student at Transylvania University in Lexington, Kentucky with a double major in Digital Arts & Media and Religion. At Ballard High School in Louisville, Kentucky, he discovered a passion for technical theatre and was active in the program until his graduation in 2023. Today he works as a crew member for the Transylvania Theatre Department and Theatre Guild. Sam attributes much of his current leadership ability to his time in theatre; when asked to design and install a mural in Costa Rica, Sam drew from his experience with scenic painting and tech management to guide his team members.

In addition to participating in the theatre department, Sam is a member of Transylvania Advocates for Accessibility, the Transylvania Interfaith Alliance, and the Transylvania LGBTQ Alliance (TUnity). He is passionate about uplifting the voices of underrepresented groups and is eager to learn from the life experiences of others. Sam hopes to become a youth minister and create safe spaces for youth and young adults to worship as their authentic selves.
